Registry Office

The Town Hall on Bornholm is a no-nonsense and straightforward choice. When you get married at the registry office, your are offered a casual ceremony that should suit most couples who want the occasion to be intimate yet practical. The happy couple can choose between having the wedding ceremony inside in the function rooms or in the garden. 

The registry office on Bornholm is situated in Rønne, where you also find the airport as well as the ferry port. Please note that even though the marriage rites have to be performed in a civil ceremony, the service can be held anywhere, including out in nature or at Erichsens Gård, as long as it is overseen by a registrar or local politician.

Wedding ceremonies in the registry office at the Town Hall can be held in in Danish, English and German. Please note that Bornholm is particularly busy during the spring and summer months. You should give the registry office and us at least one months’ advance warning so we can accommodate your wishes. This will particularly be the case with German language bookings. Disregarding which language you choose, the nuptials in the registry office will be performed as follows:

• Arrival at the town hall / chosen wedding location.
• Recording of your personal details (don’t forget your ID card / passport).
• Wedding Service by the Registrar (We stand here today etc. You may add your own vows here). 
• Exchange of rings. 
• Declaration of marriage in full accordance with civil law. 
• Signing of the marriage certificate. 

In addition, Wedding on the Rocks can always provide you with two witnesses at the ceremony as required by Danish law.
