“We chose Bornholm because we once had spent our very first vacation together here as a family of four. We also wanted to celebrate a wedding just for us. Somehow it was a perfect fit. I came across Wedding on the Rocks via various websites. The offer on the website immediately appealed to us and the first phone call was so nice!” Nina and Maik told us after the wedding.

Where on Bornholm Did Nina and Maik Choose to Get Married?

Nina and Maik opted for a traditional wedding ceremony at the Danish registry office in Bornholm’s ‘capital’ Rønne. The registrar in the town hall was able to read the wedding rites in German. This suited the couple especially with regard to their two small sons. They could follow the entire ceremony on one of the most important days in their parents – and quite probably their own – life.

Apart from German and Danish, our registrars are also able to perform the wedding ceremony in English when booked in advance. If you wish to know more about multi-lingual wedding ceremonies on Bornholm or want to book your own wedding, please contact one of our wedding planners on the form below.

A Dream Wedding with Children

Nina and Maik had been on Bornholm before and knew to a certain extent what to expect. Along with them came their two sons who were very eager to be part of their parents elopement wedding. The subsequent honeymoon, also represented the annual family summer holiday. “As it was not the first time we had visited Bornholm, we already knew what to expect from the island. What was not expected was that we could to spend the entire days in super sunshine which was fantastic!”, Nina said of their glorious wedding day on Bornholm.

After the wedding ceremony, NIna and Maik took their sons for a stroll around the woods. When it came to the time for the important wedding photos, however, some quiet time was required. Very few small children tolerate being ‘in focus’ all the time. To give all participants in the happy wedding party the required space, the wedding planners in Wedding on the Rocks arranged for a multilingual childminder who was able to keep both children and parents happy. “The idea with the childminder was worth its weight in gold,” Nina said. “It meant, we could take couple photos in a very relaxed way.”

For the wedding pictures, Nina and Maik chose one of the beautiful beaches on Bornholm. Our wedding planners in Wedding on the Rocks arranged for a professional photographer beforehand who took the pictures according the couples wishes and expectations.

“The wedding photographer took incredibly great pictures and created an unforgettable memory for us. She was super professional and somehow managed to capture the day for us and with us,” the newlyweds announced after the shoot was over.

Once the shoot was over, the family could proceed to their honeymoon-cum-holiday together.
